Dustin; in regards to equipment a few comments on footware might be beneficial. I’ve found that the right boots can be very important in establishing a base for our stance.

Thanks Kurt. I'm sure we'll cover footwear soon in a post about equipment; but you're right that footwear is VERY important. Basically we want to be shooting in something with a flat sole and decent arch support to keep your feet from rolling around. I don't recommend shooting in tennis shoes or running shoes (although I do occasionally in practice.) Cathy and Erich both shoot in flat-soled skateboard-type shoes (Vans, etc.) I think those are nice but down here in the humid south the ground is full of dew in the mornings that will soak my shoes if I walk downrange - so I wear boots. I'll put a link to the exact boots that I wear and love. I only wear them shooting and I've worn out a pair of soles and had them resoled once. There are shooting-specific boots out there but I'd think those would be very uncomfortable to walk around in all day at a match.
